Centered on Safety - Focused on Fun!
Skwim was born out of a need for increased family safety and fun in the water. After a decade of community pool closures and increasing national drownings rates, Skwim offers a more engaging option for learn-to-swim enjoyment and program growth through interactive teamwork and gameplay. Skwim has been developing over a half-century of fine-tuning and testing with thousands of players. Skwim gear continues to be enhanced as game biomechanics and hydrodynamics improve, and as superior technologies emerge.
Skwim programming consists of both game play, team training, with water safety certification, available to each player through Skwim International and Skwim USA 501c3 nonprofit. For more detailed programming information, go to Skwim International.org and the programming tab.
PlaySkwim.com is the developmental organization dedicated to the continued growth and refinement of Skwim game equipment and related training gear for all ages and abilities. Skwim builds water-skilled, water-smart, water strong community due to the hydrodynamic advantages built into the game and its gear . Families stay engaged and quickly become proficient in the water, while learning life skills and timeless truths about perseverance, character, hope, devotion, loyalty, and teamwork. 1) Gaining water strength, endurance, and skills to save oneself.
2) Developing awareness and care for others in and near the water .

Amid public pool closures and increasing drownings in the USA, Skwim is a must!
Skwim was conceived in 1982, an inspiration from above, to develop an easy-to-learn, fun-from-day-one water-disk sports game for the whole family that combines the exhilaration, speed, and hydrodynamics of bodysurfing with the interactive teamwork, speed, and game strategy of soccer and hockey. Skwim is for all ages 5 and up through seniors, and played with a soft lightweight hydroplaning disk that glides on the water between teammates and into the opponent's circular goal. The game is learned in the pool, and provides open-water adventure for advanced competition with experienced players, ISC Certified 1000.
Players are sped by specialized footwear, aka "Skwim Fins" which accelerate play, enhance mobility, and increase safety in the water. The first official game with formalized rules and production equipment was played and recorded in 2007, though forms of the game with prototype disks were enjoyed as early as 1982.
